Diggers Rest Cricket Club - 2013/2014 Season

The season is underway and the 2012/13 champions are in good form. Stay up to date with the season at the Burra's Diggers Rest Bulla Village Cricket Club Website.

About the Cricket Club

The Diggers Rest.Cricket Club was formed before the 1983-84 season.

The 1988-89 season saw the club amalgamating with the then Bulla Village.Cricket Club. This brought stability to the club with the introduction of Juniors.

With an exodus of many established players and the decline of our junior structure the club fell away dramatically in the late 90's and the club almost folded in 1996-97. At this time the club decided to field one 'C' Grade side enabling the club to survive and rebuild resulting in being able to field 4 Senior Sides and 2 Junior sides in the later seasons.

In 2009 / 2010 Season player participation declined again, loosing many players to other leagues in the search to play at higher levels.  The team also lacked in Junior participation and unfortunately were unable to field a junior side.

With a lot of hard work and dedication from our members the club have managed to re-build again and this year will be Fielding 3 Senior Sides, 2 Junior Sides and will introduce Milo Cricket to the township of Diggers Rest making junior participation our number 1 priority for the forthcoming 2011 / 2012 season and future seasons to come.
