The Cancer Council of Victoria has formally thanked all of the teams for their phenomenal efforts in donating $80,286. Every dollar raised helps keep Victorian families together: from diagnosis  and treatment to recovery and beyond.

According to the Cancer Council of Victoria records, the Lions Club of Diggers Rest contributed over $11,000 as at January 2014. It is a great surprise to the club who called friends and family to help walk the relay marathon. Lion Raymond Cammileri, who championed the clubs involvement, is amazed with the result and can't believe that so much was raised.

All of the event participants deserve to be proud of their great accomplishment.

If anyone from Diggers Rest would like to join in or sponsor a walker in 2014 then they should contact the Lions Club of Diggers Rest.
