Old School Teaches New School Some Tricks

Students from the Diggers Rest Primary School stepped back in time to find out what it was like at the first school house.

It was a great experience when one of the old school students, Charles Watson, met the kids to tell his stories.

What happened that day...

On Friday the Grade 3 /4’s went to the old school house. On the way there, we were half way through the train crossing. The train was about to come. Most of us were on the other side, but some of us got stuck on the other. When we got there Charlie and Betty were there talking to us about their school life. My favourite part was when he told us that they used to ride horses to school and sometimes he was kicked off by his cousins. Then he had to walk home!.....Sophie

When we went to the old school house, we learnt lots of things. Firstly, if you were bad, you would have to out your hand on the table and you would get hit on the knuckles.
