Meet Our New Mayor and Deputy Mayor

Melton has a new Mayor Cr Bob Turner and Deputy Mayor Cr Sophie Ramsey.

It may surprise some folk to learn that the Melton Council originated in Diggers Rest and many mayors have been from our township. However, Diggers Rest is a small community on the outskirts of the Melton shire and therefore is sometimes overlooked by Councillors and council bureaucrats.

Mayor Bob Turner does know about our town and is indeed a friend of our Lions Club and to people around town. He is a well meaning, cheerful chap who is immediate liked. Congratulations to Bob and we hope his tenor goes well.
