Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal collision which occurred in Diggers Rest this evening.
Investigators have been told that a Holden Astra was travelling north along Vineyard Road around 9pm.
Officers believe that the driver, believed to be a man in his late 40s, lost control of the car which collided with a south bound ute.
The driver of the Astra died at the scene.
The driver of the ute, believed to be a man in his 30s, was taken to hospital suffering serious injuries.
